Zach Wilson Throws Touchdown In Week 1 Win
one year ago

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson completed 14 of his 21 pass attempts for 140 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a thrilling 22-16 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Wilson added six rushing yards on four carries. The third-year pro was forced into action following an injury to Aaron Rodgers (ankle) on the team's fourth offensive play. Wilson's numbers won't necessarily jump off the page, but he was able to come in clutch with a three-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson that tied the game with less than five minutes to play. Head coach Robert Saleh praised Wilson's performance after the contest and stated that he will "be the guy" going forward if Rodgers' injury is as severe as the Jets fear it to be. Wilson has not been productive for fantasy purposes in the past but will be worth a look on waivers this week in superflex formats.
