Zach Charbonnet Dealing With Swelling In Knee
12 months ago

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that rookie running back Zach Charbonnet (knee) is dealing with a bruised knee that "puffed up pretty crazy" on Thursday night after he left the 41-35 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Charbonnet served as Seattle's lead back in Week 13 with Kenneth Walker III (oblique) missing his second straight game, and he handled a season-high 19 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown while adding one catch for a 39-yard gain on a screen pass before getting hurt late in the fourth quarter. The good news is that he'll have extra time to recover before a Week 14 rematch against the San Francisco 49ers, and the 22-year-old back could have a significant role if he's ready by then, depending on Walker's recovery from an oblique strain he suffered in Week 11. If neither Charbonnet or Walker are ready for Week 14, DeeJay Dallas figures to carry the load.
