Vikings Moving Up In 2024 NFL Draft

The Minnesota Vikings acquired the 23rd and 232nd overall picks in the upcoming 2024 NFL draft from the Houston Texans on Friday in exchange for the 42nd and 188th overall picks in this year's draft and a second-rounder next year. In addition to the 23rd pick in the first round, the Vikings also have the 11th overall pick. The move to acquire a second first-round pick is expected to be about the Vikings gaining enough draft capital for a move into the top 10 in order to take a franchise signal-caller after Kirk Cousins signed with the Atlanta Falcons in free agency. Minnesota also signed former first-rounder Sam Darnold in free agency, but he will almost certainly serve as a bridge quarterback to the incoming rookie QB that the Vikings choose to take in this year's draft.
