Tyron Smith Heads To Injured Reserve

New York Jets offensive tackle Tyron Smith (neck) has been placed on Injured Reserve on Saturday. This doesn't come as a surprise given interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich hinted at this move earlier in the week. The Jets don't appear to be going anywhere this season and they aren't going to rush the veteran tackle back to the field. The expectation is that Olu Fashanu will continue getting a look at left tackle down the stretch of the season. The Jets did use the No. 11 pick on Fashanu, so they might as well see what they have in him.
