Trevor Siemian Joins Jets Active Roster

The New York Jets signed quarterback Trevor Siemian to their active roster from the practice squad on Tuesday and signed cornerback Craig James to their practice squad in a corresponding move. Siemian signed to New York's practice squad on Sept. 26 to give the team more QB depth after Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles in the season opener. The 31-year-old veteran will now serve as Tim Boyle's backup in Week 12 against the Miami Dolphins on Friday after the Jets demoted the struggling Zach Wilson to third string. In two games (one start) with the Chicago Bears in 2022, Siemian went 15-for-26 for 184 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He's thrown for 7,027 yards with 42 TDs and 27 picks in 30 starts over six NFL seasons. If Boyle isn't much better, we could see Siemian under center for the Jets before the season is over.
