Trevor Lawrence Optimistic About Playing Against Saints
one year ago

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (knee) told reporters on Tuesday that he's "optimistic" that he will play on Thursday Night Football in New Orleans against the Saints, "but of course we'll have to make that decision on Thursday." Lawrence suffered a left-knee sprain in the Week 6 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. However, he was a limited participant in Tuesday's practice while wearing a brace on his knee and has a shot of suiting up in Week 7 despite the quick turnaround. The decision on whether he plays against the Saints will likely come down to a game-time decision, but he's currently on the right side of questionable. If the Jags play it safe on a short week and hold Lawrence out, backup C.J. Beathard would make his first start of 2023.
