Travis Kelce Goes Down With Week 8 Ship
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had his season's lowest-scoring fantasy output in Sunday's shocking 24-9 loss to the Denver Broncos, but he still led the team in targets (nine), catches (six), and yards (58). Kelce led the way in first-half receiving, too, with five catches (six targets) for 50 yards but posted his next and final reception in the fourth period on a day the Chiefs offense looked out of sorts. The 34-year-old's rapport with quarterback Patrick Mahomes has supported a sturdy fantasy floor, yielding at least six catches or a touchdown in all seven outings. The eight-time Pro Bowler's 16-game pace at 2023's midway point roughly reads 123 catches, 1,332 yards, and nine scores, meaning Father Time hasn't reared his head yet. With several marquee players on a Week 9 bye, Kelce should have no trouble leading the TE1 train during next Sunday's Germany battle of juggernauts and potential smash spot against the Miami Dolphins.
