Travis Kelce Dominates Despite Bad Ankle
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (ankle) brought in all nine of his targets for 124 yards in Week 6's 19-8 win over the Denver Broncos. Kelce looked no worse for wear with his heavily bandaged right ankle, finding creases in Denver's zone-heavy defense for big gains at will on Thursday. He got wide open and stiff-armed his way to a first-quarter 40-yard catch-and-run to highlight a massive seven-catch, 109-yard first half. Kelce accounted for seven of quarterback Patrick Mahomes' 15 completions and 109 of his 162 passing yards in the initial two quarters. It's worth noting Kelce briefly limped off the field with his injured ankle after a short fourth-quarter reception, but he promptly returned a few plays later. The four-time All-Pro will have some extra time to rest his bothersome ankle ahead of next Sunday's date with the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers, who Kelce has dominated in recent years.
