Travis Kelce Delivers Confounding Dud
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, usually the surest of fantasy bets, fell victim to quarterback Patrick Mahomes' even distribution of targets with three catches (four targets) for 14 yards in Week 9's 21-14 win over the Miami Dolphins. Before Sunday's flop, Kelce supplied double-digit full-PPR fantasy points in each of his first seven games. The lack of firepower out of the Chiefs' receiving corps was exposed in Germany, as Miami's defense blanketed Kelce for most of the day. Kelce limps into the Week 10 bye with a conspicuous dent on his 16-game pace, now reading a still-strong 114 catches, 1,194 yards, and eight touchdowns. For whatever it may be worth, Kelce is now averaging 5.8 catches for 41.3 yards in games without Taylor Swift in attendance, as opposed to 8.5 catches for 108 yards otherwise. Kelce will hope Swift returns to Arrowhead Stadium, and his top TE1 ways along with it, when the Chiefs welcome in the Philadelphia Eagles for a possible Week 11 shootout.
