T.J. Hockenson Overcomes Ankle Injury Monday
one year ago

Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson (ankle) registered a season-high 11 catches (12 targets) for 86 yards in Week 7's 22-17 triumph over the San Francisco 49ers. Hockenson left Monday's game on two occasions, with one occurring in each half. The second instance was far more concerning after he got his ankle rolled up on in the third quarter, but the 26-year-old promptly returned to play following a brief evaluation in the medical tent. Hockenson functioned as quarterback Kirk Cousins' primary chain-mover in this one, accruing six first downs. The two-time Pro Bowler has cemented himself as a bankable security blanket while Jordan Addison was the star of the show on Monday as a vertical threat. Hockenson is likely to appear on Week 8's injury report but should remain a high-floor TE1 next Sunday against the Green Bay Packers with Justin Jefferson sidelined, assuming he is able to play.
