Steelers Optimistic About Pat Freiermuth
one year ago

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he's optimistic about tight end Pat Freiermuth (chest) playing in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football. Freiermuth injured his chest in the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday and was forced to leave the game, although it doesn't sound like a serious injury and he may not have to miss any time at all. Before leaving, the 24-year-old caught his only target for a three-yard touchdown. Even though Freiermuth's injury doesn't seem serious, he'll be an even riskier low-end TE1 if he's questionable with the Steelers playing on Monday night in Week 2. If Freiermuth is limited or out against Cleveland, Darnell Washington and Connor Heyward would be forced to pick up the slack at the tight end position.
