Steelers Fire Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada
12 months ago

The Pittsburgh Steelers fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada on Tuesday, head coach Mike Tomlin announced. It's the first time the Steelers have made a head coach or coordinator change midseason since 1941, according to ESPN Stats & Information. The Steelers are 6-4 but have a negative point differential (minus-29) and have been outgained in every game this season. Their offense ranks 28th in points per game (16.6), 28th in offensive yards per game (280.1) and 31st in passing yards per game (170) this year. Quarterback Kenny Pickett ranks 25th in the NFL in passing yards (1,722) and 28th in QBR (35.7). Fantasy managers that have Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren, Diontae Johnson and George Pickens will be hoping the coordinator change will have a positive impact the rest of the way. Running backs coach Eddie Faulkner is expected to take over OC duties, with QB coach Mike Sullivan handling play-calling duties.
