Salvon Ahmed Exits Sunday's Win With Groin Injury
one year ago

Miami Dolphins running back Salvon Ahmed (groin) left Sunday's 24-17 win over the New England Patriots early due to a groin issue. The 24-year-old did not return to play following the second-quarter injury, ultimately recording three carries for 13 yards and three receptions for an additional 28 yards before exiting. De'Von Achane, making his NFL debut, turned two touches into nine yards in the contest, but he could be thrust into a role of greater importance if Ahmed's absence extends past Week 2. Raheem Mostert has functioned as Miami's workhorse back without Jeff Wilson Jr. (ribs, finger) and could be leaned on even further after gathering 121 yards on 18 carries in Sunday's victory if Achane isn't ready to handle a more intense workload.
