Ron Rivera, Mike Caldwell To Interview With Eagles

Former Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera and former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell will interview with the Philadelphia Eagles for their defensive-coordinator position, according to sources. The last time Rivera was a defensive coordinator, the Los Angeles Chargers led the league in total defense back in 2010. Caldwell will also speak with the Las Vegas Raiders for a senior defensive staff position with defensive-coordinator flexibility if current defensive coordinator Patrick Graham gets a head-coaching job. Philly fired defensive coordinator Sean Desai over the weekend, and senior defensive assistant Matt Patricia is not under contract and plans to explore other opportunities. Patricia took on play-calling duties for the last month of the 2023 season after Desai was demoted from calling plays.
