Robert Saleh Not Expecting Aaron Rodgers To Retire
one year ago

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said he would be surprised if quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) hangs up his cleats after tearing his left Achilles in the Week 1 win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. "I'd be shocked if this is the way he's going to go out," Saleh said Wednesday. Rodgers is the oldest player in the league at 39 years old, and he's facing several months of grueling rehab if he wants to try and return in 2024. The four-time MVP is receiving "consultations, trying to figure out what his next best move is," but he hasn't scheduled surgery yet. Rodgers is signed through the 2025 season and said multiple times before his injury that his goal was to play multiple years in New York. For the rest of the way this year, the Jets will roll with Zach Wilson under center.
