Rico Dowdle Dealing With Hip Contusion
one year ago

Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told 105.3 The Fan on Monday that running back Rico Dowdle (hip) is dealing with a hip contusion, which is a deep bruise. Dowdle left the Week 4 blowout win over the New England Patriots in the second quarter. It's good news for Dowdle, as he'll avoid a prolonged absence, but it remains to be seen if he'll be available in a Week 5 showdown against the undefeated San Francisco 49ers. The 25-year-old had three carries for nine yards and caught his only target for an eight-yard gain before leaving on Sunday. Dallas will likely play it safe with him after he missed all of 2021 with a fracture to the same hip. If he's forced to miss any time, rookie Deuce Vaughn will serve as Tony Pollard's direct backup.
