Rashee Rice Still Stuck In Committee
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice remains part of a receiving-corps carousel of sorts in rotation with fellow unproven wideouts. Rice may have hit paydirt in Week 5 against the Minnesota Vikings, but the rookie's snap rate was discouragingly down to 30% last Sunday. That number trailed all three disappointing acts of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore, and Kadarius Toney, suggesting Rice is not quite yet regarded as a regular contributor to three-WR personnel. The Chiefs could game plan around punishing a league-worst Denver Broncos run defense in Week 6, leaving Rice's floor and ceiling combination a rather uninspiring pairing, despite tying with Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams in target rate (35%). The 2023 second-rounder is probably the best bet to roster among KC's wideouts in terms of a rest-of-season outlook, but Rice is a low-grade WR4/FLEX until proven otherwise.
