Rashee Rice Hopes To Build On Breakout Display
12 months ago

The Kansas City Chiefs have removed wide receiver Rashee Rice (foot) from Week 13's injury report. Rice finished as Week 12's overall WR3 with 24.3 full-PPR points in last Sunday's mini breakout effort. Despite the obvious career-best box-score returns in targets (10), catches (eight), and receiving yards (107), Rice barely reached career highs in snap share (69.0%) and route rate (68.6%). It offers context that the second-round rookie's opportunity hardly expanded much beyond what we've seen over the last five outings. But head coach Andy Reid's postgame endorsement of Rice, referring to him as "Patrick friendly", should tell you all you need to know about how the coaching staff regards him at this point. Rice enters Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers ranking fourth in fantasy points per route run (0.61) and seventh in fantasy points per target (2.26) as well as yards after catch (360) among WRs. Rice is a high-end WR3 with WR2 upside.
