Rams Signing Brett Rypien To The Active Roster
one year ago

The Los Angeles Rams are signing quarterback Brett Rypien to the active 53-man roster from the practice squad on Thursday, according to a source. Rypien's signing comes a day after the Rams placed rookie quarterback Stetson Bennett on the Non-Football Injury list for undisclosed reasons. With Bennett out for a bit, Rypien, 27, will serve as starter Matthew Stafford's primary backup, beginning in Week 2 against the visiting San Francisco 49ers. In his three seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos, Rypien has gone 80-for-130 (61.5 completion percentage) for 778 yards, four touchdowns and eight interceptions in eight games played (three starts).
