Rams Officially Add Carson Wentz To Active Roster
one year ago

The Los Angeles Rams officially agreed to terms with quarterback Carson Wentz on Wednesday and added him to their active roster. In a corresponding move, the team waived QB Brett Rypien. The 30-year-old Wentz most recently went 172-for-276 for 1,755 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions in nine games (eight starts) for the Washington Commanders in 2022. He started all 17 regular season games for the Indianapolis Colts the year prior, throwing for 3,563 yards with 27 TDs and seven interceptions. The former No. 2 overall pick in 2016 by the Philadelphia Eagles out of North Dakota State is expected to serve as the backup to Matthew Stafford (thumb), although Stafford may not necessarily be ready to go coming out of the team's Week 10 bye.
