Rams Engaged In Trade Talks For Cam Akers
one year ago

The Los Angeles Rams have had trade talks centered around running back Cam Akers, who was the team's starter in Week 1, according to sources. However, he was a healthy scratch in the Week 2 loss to the division-rival San Francisco 49ers on Sunday after being ineffective in the season opener and after a difficult week of practice. Kyren Williams is now the starter in LA's backfield, and Akers' spot is up in the air. The 24-year-old former second-round pick by the Rams in 2020 out of Florida State had just 29 rushing yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in the season-opening win over the Seattle Seahawks. Akers demanded a trade last year and was in the doghouse before finishing strong with three straight 100-yard performances. It remains to be seen how the situation plays out in 2023, but for now his fantasy stock is obviously very low.
