Raiders Tab Luke Getsy As New Offensive Coordinator
10 months ago

After former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury withdrew from consideration for the Las Vegas Raiders' offensive-coordinator role on Saturday, the Raiders hired former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy for the role on Sunday. The 39-year-old was fired by the Bears last month and was one of at least five candidates the Raiders interviewed to be their play-caller for 2024. The Raiders averaged 19.5 points per game under former head coach Josh McDaniels and interim offensive coordinator Bo Hardegree last season. Getsy will bring a run-heavy mentality that new head coach Antonio Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco like. The Bears led the league in rushing in 2022 and finished second in 2023 under Getsy. However, Chicago was also last in passing offense in 2022 and 27th in 2023.
