Patriots Yet To Name Starting Quarterback For Week 12
12 months ago

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has yet to name a starting quarterback for the Week 12 game against the New York Giants, saying Tuesday he wants "everybody to be prepared." The Patriots are coming off their bye week and are 2-8. Starter Mac Jones was benched in favor of Bailey Zappe late in their Week 10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Germany. The team also has Will Grier on the active roster and rookie Malik Cunningham on the practice squad. The Pats seem inclined to let all the options battle it out this week. The Jones appeared to be over when he was benched in the last game, but he could have a shot to win the starting gig back with a good week of practice. No matter how you slice it, though, New England's offense is unlikely to improve drastically anytime soon.
