Patrick Mahomes Tops 300 Yards Thursday
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 30-of-40 passes for 306 yards, one touchdown and one interception with six carries for an additional 31 yards in Thursday's 19-8 win over the Denver Broncos. It was a frustrating game for the Chiefs offense, turning three red-zone drives into three points to begin the game. Mahomes rather carelessly threw a pick to Justin Simmons with a defender draped around the signal-caller's ankles in the first quarter. KC was finally able to cash in a touchdown when Mahomes got it to Kadarius Toney from three yards out. It feels obvious the Chiefs are missing a perimeter dimension to their aerial attack, and one has to wonder if they will be active on the trade market for another weapon ahead of the Oct. 31 deadline. Look for Week 7's matchup with the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers to offer a bit more scoring in another plus draw for Mahomes and company.
