Patrick Mahomes Looks To End Fantasy Finals On High Note
11 months ago

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' 2023 campaign is shaping up similarly to the type of season that Tom Brady put together last year. Much like Brady's 2022, Mahomes leads the NFL in pass attempts (568) but is still struggling to return weekly fantasy QB1 numbers, at least softening the blow a bit with a career-high 387 rushing yards. Dating back to a shocking Week 8 loss, Mahomes is fantasy's overall QB14 with a weak 83.5 passer rating, 1,921 yards, and 11:8 TD:INT over eight games. The perennial Pro Bowler has more or less never completely bounced back since, but Mahomes next targets a Cincinnati Bengals defense that has permitted the 10th-most fantasy points to QBs and a league-worst 7.7 yards per pass attempt. The plus matchup certainly helps, but this inferior version of the two-time MVP remains ranked as a mid-tier QB1 for Week 17's fantasy finals.
