Patrick Mahomes Finds Himself In Possible Shootout
one year ago

Following Week 7's 400-yard, four-touchdown explosion, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes flatlined in fantasy while battling an illness and freezing temperatures with his second-lowest single-game passer rating (59.2) in Week 8's shocking loss to the Denver Broncos. Certainly appearing slowed by the external circumstances, Mahomes limped to fantasy's overall QB31 result. The Chiefs stood pat at Tuesday's trade deadline, leaving the cannon-armed Mahomes without a proven wideout on the perimeter for the season's second half. The two-time MVP could still catch the remedy for last Sunday's fiasco in Week 9 against a Miami Dolphins defense allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per game (18.15) to his position this year. That's not to mention this Germany game features the slate's highest implied point total (50.5). Fantasy managers should not be turning away from Mahomes, who's out in front of all QBs with 52 red-zone attempts, as a sure-fire QB1.
