Patrick Mahomes Earns First Three-Score Effort In Short Day
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) completed 24-of-33 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns with three carries for 28 yards in Week 3's 41-10 beatdown on the Chicago Bears. The 28-year-old passed for a few short scores to Jerick McKinnon early on Sunday, but had a longer touchdown to Marquez Valdes-Scantling nullified by an illegal formation penalty during the first half. It didn't take long before this one unraveled for Chicago, as Mahomes virtually sleepwalked his way to 221 yards and two scores before the second half. The superstar found Travis Kelce for a three-yard TD before his day came to a close. Mahomes experienced a brief injury scare after Yannick Ngakoue fell awkwardly on his ankle late in the first half, so fantasy managers might see the reigning MVP have his practice reps managed, or pop up on Week 4's injury report. There's not much reason at this time to believe that his status is in any kind of jeopardy for next Sunday night against the New York Jets.
