Patrick Mahomes Compiles 305 Yards Despite Low-Scoring Affair
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 29-of-41 passes for 305 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 28-year-old chucked one into double coverage while he was hit for a second-quarter pick amidst a sloppy Chiefs first half. Mahomes salvaged the offense's listless initial two quarters with a pass from nine yards out for a Skyy Moore score in K.C.'s final drive of the half. Mahomes then hooked up with the returning Travis Kelce from nine yards out again for his second TD pass. On a humid day in the Florida heat, both offenses struggled to hold up their ends of the bargain in what was anticipated to be a potential shootout. Week 3's welcoming in of the erratic Justin Fields may not hold the same high-scoring prospects as Week 2 did. The reigning MVP should be licking his chops versus a Chicago Bears defense, however, that's had trouble keeping in check Jordan Love and Baker Mayfield during the opening two weeks.
