Panthers To Interview Brian Johnson, Ejiro Evero

The Carolina Panthers are expected to interview Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson and Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero for their head-coaching job, according to a source. The Panthers blocked the Jacksonville Jaguars' request to interview Evero for their coordinator job because they plan to interview him for a promotion to head coach in 2024. Evero led the Panthers' fourth-ranked total defense despite their NFL-worst offense. Quarterback Bryce Young, the first overall pick in 2023, struggled mightily in his first year in the league, but Carolina's lack of picks early in this year's draft may dissuade prospective head-coaching candidates more than anything. The Panthers are also searching for a new general manager this offseason, and surrounding Young with more talent on the offensive side of the ball will be one of the biggest priorities in this year's draft.
