Panthers Expected To Hire Offensive-Minded Head Coach
12 months ago

The expectation across the league is that Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper will look to hire an offensive-minded head coach to replace Frank Reich. The Panthers will likely look for someone who can help rookie quarterback Bryce Young fulfill the potential the Panthers saw in him when they made him the first overall pick in this year's NFL draft. Carolina went 1-10 under Reich in his first year as head coach before they fired him. Things haven't gone as planned for Young and the Panthers in 2023, as he has thrown nine touchdowns to eight interceptions and has looked lost for most of the year under center. The Panthers are expected to have interest in Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson again, and Commanders offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik could also be candidates.
