Packers Ready To Cut Aaron Jones Loose?
one year ago

When asked whether Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (hamstring) would play in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams, head coach Matt LaFleur said the team is "ready to cut him loose." Jones has been limited in practice this week with the same left-hamstring injury he picked up in the season opener, but it appears he will be active on Sunday and could see an elevated role in the backfield. He did play a season-high 51 percent of the offensive snaps in last week's loss to the Minnesota Vikings, but it amounted to just seven carries for 29 yards. He added a season-high four receptions for 17 yards. The 28-year-old's injury and Green Bay's inept offense have made Jones more of an RB3/flex for fantasy managers in 2023. However, things could be looking up if the Packers are ready to take the reigns off Jones moving forward.
