Nick Allegretti Suffers Torn UCL In Super Bowl
9 months ago

Kansas City Chiefs offensive guard Nick Allegretti (elbow), who started Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in place of All-Pro Joe Thuney (pectoral), played all 79 offensive snaps in the 25-22 overtime win despite suffering a torn UCL in his elbow in the second quarter, according to a source. An MRI exam on Tuesday revealed the full tear. It was probably worth it for the 27-year-old, who like many others on the Chiefs, earned his third Super Bowl ring despite the injury. Allegretti will most likely require surgery for the injury, but he'll have time to recovery in time for the start of the 2024 season this fall. The former seventh-rounder in 2019 out of Illinois has started only 13 of the 74 games he's appeared in over his first five NFL seasons in KC.
