MRI Confirms Complete Achilles Tear For Aaron Rodgers
one year ago

An MRI exam confirmed what the New York Jets feared on Monday night: that four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) suffered a complete tear of his left Achilles in the win over the Buffalo Bills, according to sources. The 39-year-old future Hall of Famer tore his Achilles on the first offensive series of the night and will now miss the entire 2023 season. Even though the Jets rallied to beat Buffalo in overtime to close out Week 1, it's a crushing blow to the Jets the rest of the way. Former first-rounder Zach Wilson, who has struggled so far in his NFL career, will now be the starter under center the rest of the way. It will be a big downgrade for New York's offensive skill players like receivers Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard, especially when you consider the Jets' suspect offensive line.
