Miles Sanders, Chuba Hubbard Involved In Committee?
one year ago

Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich said the backfield will be "a little bit by committee" moving forward. The Panthers are coming off their bye, and running back Miles Sanders (shoulder) was inactive for the Week 6 loss to the Miami Dolphins. In that game, Chuba Hubbard was the team's lead back and had 19 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown. "Chuba's looked good," Reich said. "Obviously, we love Miles. And Miles has continued to make good progress. We'll continue to get into this week a little bit." It's important to remember that Reich gave up offensive play-calling duties going into the bye week, so if Sanders is able to play in Week 8 against the Houston Texans, he could have a much smaller role in the backfield. Besides, Hubbard has been much more effective so far in 2023.
