Mike Tomlin Plans To Coach In 2024

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told players on Tuesday that the speculation about him stepping away is unfounded and he plans on coaching the team in 2024. The message to his players comes less than 24 hours after Tomlin abruptly ended his postgame news conference on Monday after the wild-card loss to the Buffalo Bills after a question regarding his future. Tomlin is entering the final season of his current contract, but he apparently plans to honor it and come back after speculation that he might be wanting to take a break from coaching. The veteran coach remains only the third head coach of the Steelers in the Super Bowl era, following Hall of Famers Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher. Tomlin has gone 173-100-2 with 11 playoff appearances, two Super Bowl berths and one Lombardi Trophy in 17 seasons.
