New England Patriots tight end Mike Gesicki could see a significant uptick in volume if teammate Hunter Henry (ankle) is unable to play in Week 7 versus the Buffalo Bills. Henry is currently listed as questionable. He missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday but upgraded to a limited participant on Friday. Gesicki and Henry have been able to co-exist in the Patriots' offense this year, though the latter has enjoyed more fantasy relevance. However, if he were to get the No. 1 tight end role all to himself, Gesicki could thrive in Week 7. Although the Bills have allowed the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends, the Buffalo defense has been solid all-around and is just as likely to slow down Rhamondre Stevenson or Kendrick Bourne. The bottom line is that the Patriots are projected to fall behind early on Sunday, leading to more pass attempts. New England has targeted its tight ends 51 times this year, which is the sixth-most in the NFL. Gesicki could become a high-end fantasy TE2 this weekend if Henry doesn't suit up. If Henry does play, though, Gesicki lacks fantasy appeal. We should have more clarification on this entire situation when the Patriots post their list of inactive at 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday.
