Mike Caldwell Interviews With Bills For Defensive-Coordinator Job

Former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell interviewed with the Buffalo Bills for their defensive-coordinator job, according to a source. Caldwell and head coach Sean McDermott overlapped twice with the Philadelphia Eagles -- once with Caldwell as a player and again when he was on the coaching staff. After Leslie Frazier left the Bills, McDermott handled defensive play-calling in 2023. Caldwell spent two seasons running the Jaguars defense before getting fired after the 2023 regular season. He previously coached for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Eagles. Although the Bills defense was wrecked with injuries during the regular season, they still managed to put up decent numbers before losing in the Divisional Round of the playoffs to the Kansas City Chiefs.
