Michael Mayer Puts Up Strong Performance In Win
one year ago

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer had his biggest game of the season in Week 6 against the New England Patriots. After bringing in two of his three targets for 39 yards in Week 5, Mayer led the Raiders in receiving yards. The Raiders rookie tight end caught five passes for 75 yards on six targets. The Raiders made a concerted effort to get Mayer more involved, and the move paid off. Mayer got open downfield multiple times and displayed his YAC ability against the Patriots. Mayer's snaps have increased weekly, and this performance has officially put him on the fantasy radar. Most of Mayer's production came with Jimmy Garoppolo in at quarterback, but he left the game with a back injury. It remains to be seen if Mayer will get the same opportunities if another quarterback is asked to lead the offense. Despite the quarterback uncertainty, fantasy managers can pick up Mayer in Week 7 as a bye-week replacement option and a potential weekly starter moving forward.
