Michael Mayer Looking To Continue Success
one year ago

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer had his biggest game of the season in Week 6 against the New England Patriots. Mayer brought in five of his six targets for 75 yards. The Raiders rookie tight end led the team in receiving yards, and the team made a conscious effort to get him involved early. Mayer has seen his role in the offense grow each week, and the rookie's pass-catching prowess was on full display against the Patriots. Mayer was one of the best tight-end prospects in his class, and it was only a matter of time before the Raiders got him involved. The Raiders tight end will face the Chicago Bears this Sunday. The Bears defense has been vulnerable against the pass and the run, so the Raiders should be able to move the ball well in this contest. With Raiders starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo out, Mayer must rely on veteran Brian Hoyer to throw him the ball. Considering the number of teams on bye this week, Mayer could be viewed as a start, but it remains to be seen how efficient the Raiders passing attack will be with Hoyer. Fantasy managers can start Mayer as a low-end TE1 in Week 7 against the Bears.
