Michael Mayer Looking To Build On Performance
one year ago

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer had his biggest game of the season in Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers. Mayer brought in two of his three targets for 39 yards. The Raiders rookie tight end had been virtually nonexistent in the offense before the Packers matchup, earning just two targets across the season's first four games. The Raiders offense has been funneled through Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams, and Jakobi Meyers, but the coaching staff may be trying to expand that. As good as those players are, defenses can hone in on them and disrupt the Raiders passing attack. Mayer looked good in his opportunities, and his performance may have earned him more touches moving forward. The Raiders still have veteran tight end Austin Hooper on the roster, but he has also been minimally involved. While the needle seems to be pointing up for Mayer, with his snaps increasing each week, he does not need to be rostered in any fantasy leagues yet.
