Marvin Mims Jr. Gets Off To Slow Start
one year ago

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. didn't have the type of NFL debut he was hoping for in the 17-16 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, especially when you consider that teammate Jerry Jeudy (hamstring) didn't even play and tight end Greg Dulcich (leg) was injured early and never returned. Mims finished the Week 1 contest with just two receptions (two targets) for nine yards. It didn't help that quarterback Russell Wilson spread the ball around to 10 different receivers and struggled with the deep ball. There's plenty of time for the 21-year-old to improve, but it will get harder in the short term once Jeudy is able to return to the starting lineup, potentially in Week 2 in a tough matchup against the Washington Commanders at home.
