Marvin Jones Jr. Stepping Away From Lions
one year ago

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. announced on social media that he is stepping away from the team to take care of personal family matters. Jones didn't travel with the team to Baltimore to face the Ravens in Week 7 and will now be away from the team for the foreseeable future. The 33-year-old veteran had not seen much of a role in the offense through six games, catching five of his 10 targets for 35 yards. In Jones' absence, Jameson Williams and Kalif Raymond could be on the field a bit more behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Josh Reynolds in Detroit's receiving corps. Fantasy managers that were stashing Jones in really deep leagues can go ahead and drop him now. UPDATE: The Lions released Jones on Tuesday.
