Lions D/ST Losing Two Key Contributors
one year ago

The Detroit Lions have placed defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson (pectoral) and defensive end James Houston (ankle) on Injured Reserve, according to Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network. Both players were injured in the Lions' Week 2 loss to the Seahawks and now Detroit is down two key defensive players for quite a while. Gardner-Johnson was brought in to help fix a leaky pass defense while Houston, who was second on the team last season with eight sacks, was an up-and-coming force on the edge. The Lions hope to get both players back at some point this season but there is no set timetable for either player to return. The Lions host the Falcons in Week 3 but should be avoided for streaming purposes at this point.
