Lamar Jackson Stakes A Claim For MVP

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson slammed the Miami Dolphins in Week 17's 56-19 blowout win, staking his claim for NFL MVP honors by completing 18-of-21 passes for 321 yards and five touchdowns with six carries for 35 yards. Miami scored to get things started, but the Ravens took command shortly thereafter. Jackson's three first-half scores came from 20, 75, and 35 yards away to give Baltimore a two-score advantage at halftime. The 26-year-old All-Pro hooked up with tight end Isaiah Likely for a second time in the third quarter before putting the finishing touches on a masterful display with a short TD to fullback Patrick Ricard during the fourth period. This may have been a wrap for Jackson's 2023, and fantasy managers couldn't have asked for a better finale. Perhaps having sealed the deal in the MVP race, Jackson may not play much in Week 18 against the Pittsburgh Steelers with the AFC's top seed clinched.
