Kliff Kingsbury The Leading Candidate For Offensive-Coordinator Job In D.C.

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who was close to becoming the Las Vegas Raiders' offensive coordinator, is a leading candidate to become the Washington Commanders' new offensive coordinator, according to sources. Kingsbury was a senior offensive analyst at USC in 2023. Eric Bieniemy, the Commanders' assistant head coach and offensive coordinator, has one year left on his contract. The 44-year-old Kingsbury was also the head coach at Texas Tech before coming to the NFL and has a strong track record of developing quarterbacks, including Kyler Murray and Patrick Mahomes. If Washington indeed hires Kingsbury, it will fuel speculation that the Commanders could trade up with the Chicago Bears at No. 1 overall to take USC QB Caleb Williams, who Kingsbury worked closely with last year.
