Kirk Cousins Cooks Top Pass Defense Monday
one year ago

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins was terrific in Week 7's 22-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers, completing 35-of-45 passes for 378 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. It looked like Cousins was in for some more prime-time misery after he got picked off on his second throw, but he flipped that script by carving up one of the NFL's stingiest pass defenses Monday. The box score may not even do the four-time Pro Bowler justice, as Cousins repeatedly made clutch third-down throws and electric downfield plays. Cousins' scores were two strikes to Jordan Addison, with one coming on a dangerous throw over the middle that the rookie ripped away from the defender. The 35-year-old faced plenty of pressure but orchestrated his first game of the campaign without taking a sack. Cousins will be a fringe QB1/2 in Green Bay against the Packers in Week 8, still without top target Justin Jefferson.
