Khalil Shakir Dusts Jets For 2023's Longest Pass Play
12 months ago

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir generated a team-high 115 yards on three receptions (four targets) as his team blasted the New York Jets 32-6 in Week 11 on Sunday. Shakir's highlight of the day came as he eluded the defense for a nifty 81-yard touchdown in the third quarter, reeling in a perfectly placed Josh Allen strike and outrunning Gang Green's converging defense toward the house. It was easily a career day for the 23-year-old, who had never topped the 100-yard threshold in any game prior. Tight end Dawson Knox (wrist) is eligible to come off short-term injured reserve following his wrist surgery in the Week 12 duel with the Philadelphia Eagles, which could put a damper on Shakir's outlook as a waiver-wire pickup for that matchup. Shakir is averaging 3.5 receptions (4.0 targets) and 72.0 yards over his last four tries without Knox around.
