Khalil Herbert Not Activated For Thursday Night
one year ago

Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert (ankle) was not activated from Injured Reserve in order to play on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers. Herbert was eligible to return from IR this week after missing the last four games with a high-ankle sprain that he suffered in Week 5. He even practiced in full all week leading up to Thursday's game, but the Bears apparently didn't think he was ready for game action just yet. It means that D'Onta Foreman will continue in the team's lead-back role against Carolina in Week 10, with rookie Roschon Johnson and Darrynton Evans fighting for complementary work behind him. The 25-year-old Herbert will have a better shot at making his return from IR in Week 11 against the Detroit Lions.
