Khalil Herbert As A High-Ankle Sprain
one year ago

Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert (ankle) is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, according to a source. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported earlier on Sunday that Herbert could miss multiple weeks after getting injured in Thursday night's win over the Washington Commanders, and now we know why. It's bad news for a Bears backfield that is banged up, with rookie Roschon Johnson (concussion) and Travis Homer (hamstring) also getting hurt in Week 5. The 25-year-old Herbert is unlikely to be ready for Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings, but we'll keep tabs on his status at practice next week. If none of Herbert, Johnson or Homer are ready for next Sunday, D'Onta Foreman could be forced into lead-back duties for the Bears.
