Kendrick Bourne Commands Nine Targets Sunday
one year ago

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne was targeted nine times during Week 2 versus the Miami Dolphins. He ultimately finished the game with just four catches for 29 yards. There's a lot of information to discuss with Bourne, who is the Patriots' most-targeted receiver (20) through two games but played just 51 percent of snaps on Sunday. This was a major step backward from his 91 percent snap share, 64 receiving yards, and two touchdowns in Week 2. The biggest factor in Bourne's decreased workload is DeVante Parker, who played 100 percent of snaps Sunday while leading the Patriots in catches and receiving yards upon his return from injury. He should be viewed as New England's No. 1 receiver going forward while Bourne and JuJu Smith-Schuster grapple for the No. 2 job. For the time being, Bourne is a low-end bench option in traditional 12-team formats.
